Description
As of 8 February 2007, the epidemiological alert issued by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay (MSPBS) has been in effect throughout the entire country, in view of cases of dengue and dengue hemorrhagic (DH). To date, there have been 3 fatal cases of DH.
Hasta la Semana epidemiológica (SE) No 10 (5 de marzo de 2007), como seguimiento a las noticias publicadas el 12 de febrero, se notifica 53.146 casos de dengue, 27 casos de dengue hemorrágico (DH), 6 fallecidos Serotipo circulante: DEN-3 Estado más afectado: Mato Grosso do Sul (con 52 % de los casos )

Up to 14 March of 2007 (Epidemiological Week / EW No. 11), following up on the February 9 update, official reports are as follows.Item Epidemiological Alert, Dengue Situation in Bolivia (6 February 2009)(PAHO, 2009)From 1995 to 2007, 29,584 cases of dengue were reported, including 193 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and 9 deaths from dengue; During this period, dengue serotypes DEN-1, 2, and 3 were in circulation, in different combinations. Up to Epidemiological Week / EW 52 of 2008, a total of 3,004 dengue cases were reported, including 44 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and one death, with the serotype DEN-1 predominating. From the first week of 2009, an increase in the number of cases of classic dengue was reported, a disease trend that had been increasing since EW 48 in 2008. During the second week of January 2009, cases were registered in four departments of the country (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cochabamba, Beni y Pando).
